Good Cop, Bad Cop: Bathroom

Hello, In todays "Good Cop, Bad Cop" post we have two bathrooms.

Both contestants choosing a checkered bathroom floor tile and a lovely accent of blue.

I'm looking forward to seeing our two looks, so come with me and see who is our 'good' and who is our 'bad'.

It's no surprise this is the 'good'

Zoe Murphy's Bathroom found over at The Design Files - you gotta see the rest of this house!

The over sized marble tiles in a diagonal format make this spacious bathroom feel even roomier.  It's mono-chromatic scheme is spear-headed by an insanely bright blue, enhanced further by it's high gloss finish.  This bathroom is sophisticated, elegant with punches of whimsey and light.

And to our 'bad'.

Found here and lucky for all concerned it is a 'before shot'

It's shit and made my eyes fall off.

Well that's all for today, but please come back next week when we explore more into the heady world of "Good Cop, Bad Cop" design...

Good Prods: Fredericks & Mae Arrows

My eye has been spying arrows.

Colourful, intricate and unique (just like me really).

Hang em on a wall or stick em in a vase.

Two jokers (Jolie Mae Signorile and Gabriel Fredricks Cohen) who share a love for feathers, thread, gold and paper (as you do)

That collab also made these

Worry beads

I found them at Flock in Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand and Third Draw Down in Melbourne

Check me: Lil'Magoolie and Homestyle Magazine

Forgive me while I toot a few of my own horns.

I was asked to give some tips for the article "Don't move, improve" in the Feb/March 2012 Homestyle Magazine.

Images from Homestyle Mag Blog

It also featured my latest re-upholstered chair!

Also my March post is now up at Lil'Magoolie and I'm talking wallpaper.

She's also getting readers to write in with interior questions so fell free to go nuts.
The hairier the better!

That's all.

Home of: Jessica Folcker and Daniel Heckscher

Dream home alert - and surprise surprise it's in Sweden!

This couple has channeled Frieda Kahlo (another design inspiration of mine) and designed their home with superb results.

Good design for me absolutely has to involve the unexpected and the amusing and this house has it in spades.

Highlights:
Watermelon inspired bedding
Baby pink basins
Could chairs
Bright yellow metal exterior to the kitchen island
Shiny blue wooden floors

Lowlights:
I don't live there

Good god you are one good looking shop.

And look what else they sell:

Beci Orpin canisters

Sunday Ganim blankets

I may even visit you very soon.

You can find them web-side here.

Gotta go to: Ellerslie International Flower Show

Last year that darned earthquake foiled our plans for garden design domination but this year it's back and bigger than ever.

Yuss - the Ellerslie International Flower Show right here in little ol' broken Christchurch.
7th - 11th March 2012.

Now don't be fooled - I'm still an 'inside' gal and really don't know my Azaleas from my Alstroemeria's but I do enjoy colour and design (no shit shirl), sooooo I'll be going.

I might even ride my garden there...

Found over at Incredible things and you can buy at Etsy

Just found: Johanna Flyckt

There's good shabby-chic and there is not so good shabby-chic.

Trust me this the good one.  Possibly the best.

Just look at everything going on.  So good.  Those floors, I mean, go on.

Johanna Flyckt has created a haven from a once run-down shack to a homely and lived in home.  Nothing beats that.

Surprise surprise she's Swedish and her blog is a real gem.  Go there and get your Nordic on!

Can't read a thing but did find these images.

Cracking stuff.
