me vs: black and white

New segment alert!

I quite often look down at what I'm wearing and think "I'm looking awesome".  Just jokes.  But I do think about the similarity of fashion and interiors and mostly about colour/pattern combos.

Putting shizz together is half the battle and if you are anything like me I like to get it 'just so' - in what I wear (clothing) and what I style (interiors).

This has nicely segwayed me into a new segment which I hope you will enjoy called 'me vs'.

Enjoy and poke fun at your convenience.

Newsy news: Tripping

What! Have I not told you about my trip?

Well, I will now then... The Fultons are on tour - it's a 3 month France-fancy with our wee family travelling with my husband's twin and his family.
Special times as we get to spend 100 days together driving, drinking, looking, laughing, eating, entertaining ourselves around the traps of a frenchie-town or three. Mai, oui!

I, of course will be reporting back with design goodies that we see on-route - and also regular goodies that you have come to know and love from the AFD blog.
This will of course be in between over-indulging and immersing myself in French stuff!

We leave at the beginning of July and then back to New Zealand in October. So excited.

Also hoping to catch-up and meet some of my web buddies while over that side o' the world. Will keep you posted on that too.

Any tips/ideas/recommendations greatly appreciated as I have not lived over to the UK and Europe for 10 years. My to-do list is expanding...

You can always find me, tweeting, facing and pinning so I'm never too far away!

Shop it up: Hapa

Straight from the Urban dictionary..

hapa1782 up184 down
1; Of mixed racial heritage with partial roots in Asian and/or Pacific Islander ancestry. 2; If an individual has one parent whom is Asian/Pacific Islander, and one parent whom is of an ethnicity outside of Asian/Pacific Islander, they would generally be considered Hapa. 3; Damn good looking people
Tina: God I love Hapa guys
Jennifer: Who doesn't?

Yeah Jen, you said it girl.  Well, I found another Hapa - equally as good looking.

Flox light box

Mauz onsite

Owned and op'd by Mauz and Yuri - it's a way choice shop situated in the heart of 'container city' here in Christchurch.  The aim was to focus on local design with a smattering of overseas goodies that compliment.

The mix is just right with something for all.

Personal fav: The Bear Bean Bag.

Happy Feet: Canterbury Sheepskin boots

Cold tooties no more!

My friend Sue just told me about this local company making sheepskin boots that are not only sheepskin lined but come in bright colours - weeeeee!

If more neutral colours are your bag then check out these puppies...

It's the beginings of winter here in NZ and these are the perfect solution to looking cool and warm at the same time.

Shop it up: Flock Design Store

Of all the bloody rotten luck...  Not content with surviving 9000 zillion earthquakes, this little design store had a feckin' car drive right in it.

Talk about the little shop that could!  And does.

I have spoken of Flock before and I will again as Emma stocks choice wares which I love.

Hot off the press are the range of giant worry-beads from Fredericks and Mae.  If that sounds familiar it's because it is - I spoke of the terriff arrows they make back in this post.

These worry beads are mega and mighty and I just love... a lot.  So does my design twin Charlie for that matter which is no surprise to anyone that knows us both.

It was tricky to choose and in the end I went for kelly-green/black/white/yellow combo. (Not pictured).
That's friday love right there that is.

Oh and who spotted the fine range of neck-laces from clever trevor Emily Green?  Oh yes she's there too.

Emily Green Necklaces in all their fluro-colourful glory

Happy shopping flock focker folks.

Good Prod: Graphic World of BLANK

Map-o-the-worlds watch out!  There's a new kid on the block and it's PASTEL and PATTERNED.

Designed by the clever Tinja Wright from BLANK, it's one of the prettiest worlds I've seen for some time.  They are based in London but ship world-wide.

They also do other art-to-order type goodies.

Just 'cause they can bespoke each print - maybe a world in hot pink, greys and yellows...
