Dine by Design 2010 - Peoples choice award!

Well it's done...!

I've done a photo library from set-up to take down.

All that hard work, time and effort - it was all worth it...

....and guess what,  I WON "The peoples choice award"

So proud.

Also so proud of my good mate Charles who won the judges award.  We clever.

There are a million helpers that helped so thank you all (see photo of thank-you's)

Hardworking hands (mine).  The start of a very colourful story!

Trev and Nathan - my hardworking boys!

The work-horse, my kombi.

Beej: classy painter and Nathan: best applier of  wall stickers

The room starting to get there - amazing finally seeing what was in my head for 9 months - I'm birthing my room!
Setting un table

Lucy's peppermill (used to be a quiet shade of baby blue ).  That's a true mate.

Just about there... just needs something else - I know!  Paint water in the glasses!!

Ahhh that's better!

Different angle - Wood is responsible for those darling buds of gay.  Perfecto.

Can you believe that some drunk basssstard opened a present.  Suprise - thin air.  Looser.

Frazzled but happy

My thank-yous.

Packing down - boo.
Those chairs... pure joy.

Dine by Design 15 Dec 2010

Dine by Design is on next week my Christchurch friends! Be there to vote for your favourite room. 6 rooms, 6 designers. Will be a design-a-rama!

My room's blurb is as follows:

This dining experience will stimulate your senses and challenge all preconceptions of formal dining.

Alex Fulton is one of Christchurch’s exciting new breed of interior designers, and she is creating an entire dining environment that is eclectic, electric and elegant.

Mixing colour with tradition, this room will provide a wild, frivolous, and emotive experience.

You bet your ass Canterbury.

Come to the public voting Wednesday 15th Decemeber 4-6pm at the massive marquee at Riccarton House, 16 Kahu Road.

We need your support as this event was postponed after the Sept earthquake.

See this link for more infomation

and because I love you all here is a sneak peak at some of the beautiful furniture I will be showing in my dining room.

My friends at Murray Turnbull Spraying  and Mirotone are responsible for all that high gloss loveliness (even if they think I'm as mad as a snake)

Go me!

Best bits: Living etc Nov 2010

Best bits may become a feature as I love nothing more than to lounge all over a new mag and harvest morsals.  My other half gets a short sharp shift if he DARES to come between me and my new monthly.

Anyways lets go:
Multi hued Wishbone chairs from Carl Hansen & Son

Shut up.
Did you know that we can do this in NZ?
My fabulous supplier of beautiful shutters - SanteFe Shutters can customise shutter to ANY colour.  You too can do this in your home.

Pixelated anything cranks my hard drive so you imagine my deeelight when I saw these bad boys

 Designed by spainard Cristian Zuzunaga

Isn't that Bret and Jemaine from FOTC?  Anywho.

Loving the pixel-pillows too

This was in there

Image from Union Jack Wear
What cracked me was the website that it came from... go on, jack your self stupid.
I've never seen such an assortment of Union Jacks - they have everything from mouse pads to xmas baubles.  Brilliant.

It so wowed me I didn't even see Orla Kiely mat next door.

House of the Month: Tall Wonder

Best:  The bespoke brass covered kitchen islands - rad.
Master bedroom featuring  uber cool colour combo of mid grey (wooden panelling) and cerice (quilted duvet)
Donna Wilson Cushions on a navy sofa.
Sonic Youth Print in bathroom

Not muchie

KVi tap... Nuff said.

Big Country article - just marv.

Val Garlands (a lister makeup artist) House: loved her beanbag in the garden (probably available from our mates at Jack-a-rama - see above)  and the queen wearing a gas mask print.

Clincher:  The fact she lives next to a Paul Smith shop.  Beeeearch.

There is soooooooooo much more but I'm going to leave it there and read the rest tucked up in bed.
