Good Prod: Catherine David Designs - Josefine Bordello Wall Sconce

Oh I've found a good prod all right.

It's a wall light.

Not just any wall light.

It's colourful and has a contrasting fringe.

You hang, you plug and you go.

I'm in love.

Which one would you choose?
I couldn't choose so I brought all three (for the Studio of course).  Come visit them and me and I will sell you one if you can wrestle them out of my hot little hands...

Catherine David Designs is a New Zealand designer that has provided us with some most excellent prods in the past (and still does) but these exceed all my widlest dreams.

You can find and buy all her goodness here.

Stop! Collaborate and listen: Alex Fulton Design and Commando-M

If you were an 80's kid living in New Zealand you would have worn a pair of these puppies.  You would of not only worn them you would have pimped the eff outta them.

I recall many an English lesson doodling all over my Commando-M's - especially the 'M' part of the white rubber sole.  It had magnetic powers and the more I swore I would leave it nude the more I just couldn't help myself to doodle.

Well guess what my kiwi friends, they are back and have a new look goin' on.  They have revived the classic plastic moulded sole with a new reconditioned upper that's customisable!  Yes, you can create your own little piece of shoes nirvana!

I was sent a pair to give my own spin. I thought I would show my level of maturity and design professionalism, soooooooo I scraped the doodle and opted for the highly sophistic relm of multi coloured confetti.

I even did a movie!

It's not about faces, just places, spaces: The Colourful Loft by Jean Verville

Holy shiz balls.  Now this is what I call colourtastic.

When so many are afraid of colour, it is just utter joy when I see a home such as this.

The brief was to design a space that could house and show-off a colourful collection of contempory art.  Jean Verville is a Canadian based Architect who I'm sure delighted his clients with this original solution.

Avoiding the obvious - all white walls - he has created playful arrangement and unusual focal points using colour and form.

Pure colour-blocking genius.

Newsy news: Tripping

What! Have I not told you about my trip?

Well, I will now then... The Fultons are on tour - it's a 3 month France-fancy with our wee family travelling with my husband's twin and his family.
Special times as we get to spend 100 days together driving, drinking, looking, laughing, eating, entertaining ourselves around the traps of a frenchie-town or three. Mai, oui!

I, of course will be reporting back with design goodies that we see on-route - and also regular goodies that you have come to know and love from the AFD blog.
This will of course be in between over-indulging and immersing myself in French stuff!

We leave at the beginning of July and then back to New Zealand in October. So excited.

Also hoping to catch-up and meet some of my web buddies while over that side o' the world. Will keep you posted on that too.

Any tips/ideas/recommendations greatly appreciated as I have not lived over to the UK and Europe for 10 years. My to-do list is expanding...

You can always find me, tweeting, facing and pinning so I'm never too far away!
